The “D” Word

05 Oct

Everyone seems to cringe when you say the word diet, like it’s some kind of disease, which in all fairness it can be and is often associated with countless eating disorders. When you tell someone you’re on a diet they automatically come back with a generic response “What for? You look great!” which starts to get old after awhile, even when you’re overweight. However, in recent months / years, if you mention to someone you’re on a clense or a detox, they generally tend to provide you with much more encouragement and much more support. But why is this? Is it possible to be skinny and healthy?

I have a related problem. Whenever i start a diet/work out routine, all of a sudden everyone i know turns into an expert. Few have constructive things to say that make sense and are easy to adapt to. While most, they pass on a combination of several fad diets they have heard.
