Trial and Error

06 Oct

Change is difficult. Change has always been difficult for all of us. We are all stuck with habits we wish we could change, but never seem to muster up enough energy for. But imagine this: imagine not putting milk in your tea or on your cereal. Imagine not touching another egg or a tub of yogurt. Imagine not curling up on the sofa after a hard day with that tub of Ben & Jerry’s. After that, try to imagine never eating refined sugar again, so that means no more chocolate bars, no more ketchup, no more brown sauce. Imagine no more white rice, or white bread, no more egg pasta. That’s a long list of things you can’t have…So what’s left?

We focus so much on what we cannot have, that we tend to ignore what we can have. Eating vegan doesn’t mean you have to starve! Nor does it mean you have to go without. Plenty of companies make vegan versions of products that you would not be able to eat, such as soy chocolate, soy cheese, soy milk, veggie burgers & sausages etc.

Soy Dream Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream

Soy Dream Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream

My recent trial was Soy Dream Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream.

The reason: I had the worst craving for chocolate. I kid you not. I was grumpy, and stressed, thought my attempt at getting fit and healthy was a waste of time, and all i wanted was some chocolate ice cream to ease the pain.

The verdict? Not that bad, although I couldn’t manage more than two table spoons of it, the stuff is very sweet, but my craving was completely satisfied! It definitely will take some getting used to if i ever intend on sitting in front of the tele with a box of soy dream ice cream, but somehow, i can’t see myself doing that!

Will I be purchasing this again though? No, probably not, I am still on the lookout for something that blows my mind…
